Egyptologist turned art appraiser, Joanne Salvador, curates a life as eclectic as her collections. A Stony Brook alumnus (Yale Egyptologists Forum), she's authored exhibitions & discovered a rare Tutankhamun portrait head. Now, amidst antiquarian books, classical music, and her beloved plants and pets, she's writing "The Great Antiquities Game" and "American Kitsch." Her creed: "Live adventurously, then write about it!”

Ever since childhood, my sister Joanne has been my guide to life’s quiet magic. Through long walks by woods and streams, she taught me to cherish nature’s rhythms, the dance of seasons, moon cycles, and starlit skies. Decades later, in our chaotic world, these lessons anchor us. Her wisdom: “Simple joys are life’s greatest gifts”. Following nature’s resilient beauty has gifted me harmony, peace, and gratitude. Thank you, Joanne, for sharing this timeless sanctuary with me.

Joanne Salvador, my teacher and a naturalist, saved my sanity and life when I became depressed. She introduced me to the natural world, revealing the eternal beauty and contentment found in plants, animals, clouds, sea, sun, moon, and stars. Above all, she taught me that nature is my constant companion, and by enjoying it and all it has to offer, I am never alone. I thank her with all my heart and will never forget how she helped me through this difficult time. Her guidance showed me a path to healing and appreciation for the world around me. I am forever grateful for her wisdom and support.
With deepest appreciation and thanks,
